Robert C. Braun, age 86, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

He was born on January 31, 1937, in Sheboygan to the late Robert and Emily (Krimel) Braun. Emily died shortly after Robert’s birth and his father later married Helen Pausha. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1955 and continued his education at Sheboygan UW Extension. He completed a painting and decorating apprenticeship, becoming a journeyman. He was employed for over 35 years at Sheboygan Glass Company, until his retirement. On April 13, 1957, Robert was united in marriage to Jean Ann Kreuter at First Congregational, United Church of Christ in Sheboygan, where they are both lifelong members. Robert had been active in the church after joining in 1963, serving as a deacon, trustee, usher, Christian education teacher, and a member of the building and grounds committee. Robert proudly served in the Army National Guard for 11 years. Robert was a life member of the Sheboygan Elk’s Club.

Due to his vision loss, Robert retired early, but that did not stop him from enjoying the game of golf, even acing hole #3 at Town & Country. He also enjoyed bowling, reading, and traveling extensively with his wife Jean, family and friends. Robert was an inspiration to those who knew his story. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean; daughters, Pamela (Jeffrey) Crneckiy Bonnie (David) Widder; grandchildren, Emily (Steven) Balde and Joseph Crneckiy; great-grandchildren, Connor, Emmett, and Harper Balde; sister-in-law, Carol Pausha; nieces and nephews, Karen (Tom) Bird, Kurt Kreuter, Barabara (Tim) Schmidt, Holly (Marina Coleridge) Kreuter, Jack, Christopher, and Stephanie Kreuter, Brad (Ann) Pausha, Greg (Carol) Pausha and Donna Kreuter; special cousins, Elizabeth Schauer, Judith Curry, and James Brodhagen and a grand dog, Bobby; other family and friends further survive.

Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, John Pausha; father and mother-in-law, Theodore (Amanda) Kreuter and brothers and sister-in-law, James (Martha) Kreuter and Jack Kreuter; special cousins, Helen Cerney and Karl Braun.
