Robert Sizonen

Robert Wesley Sizonen age 79, of Sheboygan, passed away at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
He was born July 8, 1939 to Wesley and Frieda (nee Hermann) Sizonen. Robert attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Central High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years.
He was united in marriage to Carol Merry Humphrey on July 23, 1960 at Camp Lejeune Protestant Chapel in North Carolina. She preceded him in death in 1981.
For 37 years, Robert worked at Kohler Co. retiring in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking and trap shooting. He was a member of the Ridge Runners Sportsmen Club and earned many awards for his shooting. Robert served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troup 56 from 1962-64 and then served as committeeman of Troop 62 in 1976.
Survivors include his 3 children, Donna M. (Derick) Melanz, Roger W. (Teresa) Sizonen and Richard T. Sizonen (special friend, Jeri Gumtow), two brothers-in-law: David (Edith) Gazinski and Peter (Carol) Kortenhorn, 5 grandchildren: Douglas (special friend Amanda), Michael & Daniel (Hannah Wente) Melanz and Ryan and Joshua Sizonen, niece Jilene Kortenhorn and special friend Delores Scheidt. He is further survived by many cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carol, mother-in-law Bernice Gazinski, sister Elizabeth J. Kortenhorn and niece Lisa Beth Kortenhorn.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 North 8th Street in Sheboygan. Pastor Timothy Mech will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 11:30AM - 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
