Roma Vandoske

November 4, 1923 — October 8, 2013

Roma E. Vandoske, 89, passed away at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She was born in the Town of Herman on November 4, 1923 to parents Otto and Alma (Klokow) Braun. Roma was baptized at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Howards Grove and also confirmed there in 1937. She graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1941. She worked for four years at the Mosel Centerville Telephone Co. Roma then was united in marriage on November 17, 1945 to Reuben Vandoske. They farmed together on County Line Road for 25 years until Reuben's death in 1971. She then worked at the Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center until her retirement. Roma was a faithful member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Town of Mosel and past member of the Ladies Aid. Roma enjoyed dancing in her younger years. She loved to play cards and belonged to many Sheepshead and Canasta clubs. She enjoyed taking care of her lawn and baking for family and friends. Roma is survived by two sons; Warren (Karen) and Richard (Jane); four grandchildren; Jenny (Dan) Radue, Bob (Tara) Vandoske, Cathy Vandoske (Special friend, Jon Buzaitis) and Corey Vandoske; one step-grandson Carl (Renee) Schweitzer; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Radue, Brianne, Reid and Brooklyn Vandoske; four step-great-grandchildren, Logan, Peyton, Ian and Lincoln Schweitzer; one sister, Rogene Manz; two brothers-in-law, Ron (Sue) Vandoske and Lloyd (Terry) Vandoske; one sister-in-law, Ruth Vandoske. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Roland Braun, two infant brothers, mother and father-in-law, Ida and Hugo Vandoske; three brothers-in-law, Willis Manz, Eugene Vandoske and Roy (Beverly) Vandoske . Funeral Service on Sunday, October 13 at 5:00 PM at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, (W1307 Orchard Road, Town Mosel) with Rev. William Kesting officiating. Visitation at the church from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Burial at the Church Cemetery. Roma's family would like to thank the staff of Harvest Home and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Roma. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
