Shirley Hasenstein, age 95, of Sheboygan, passed away July 9, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1929 to the late Alfred and Olivia (Muetzelburg) Kautzer. Shirley a lifelong Sheboygan resident graduated from North High School in 1948. She then worked for the Sheboygan Public School System.
On April 19, 1952, she was married to Raymond Hasenstein. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1998.
After raising her family, she returned to work for the H.C. Prange Company as a bridal consultant. She worked there for forty-three years before retiring, leaving behind many customers who became special friends.
She was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, serving on many committees, being a member of the church council and teaching Sunday school.
Bowling, golfing, working in her yard, playing cards and getting together with friends and traveling were her favorite activities. The most important part of her life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Hedy Ann (Dan) Stieber, son Dan (Terry) Hasenstein and daughter Penny (Mike) Dickert; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott) Allen, Lindsay (Mike) Rademacher, Benjamin (Melody) Hasenstein, Christina (Brian) Fee, Jacqueline (Mike) Newholm; twelve great-grandchildren, Charles, Zachary and Olivia Rademacher, Mackenzie and Evan Hasenstein, Madison, Connor and Nicole Fee, Ryan and Ethan Newholm, and Grayson and Kade Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Olivia Kautzer; husband Raymond; his parents William and Laura Hasenstein; granddaughter Jaime Kogler; great-grandchildren, Colton and Isabelle Hasenstein; brother Burnell (Virginia) Kautzer; brothers-in-law, Willard (Lillian) Hasenstein and Don (Irene) Hasenstein, and a special and dear friend James Dekker.
A Funeral Service honoring Shirley’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM at St. John’s UCC, 1248 Lincoln Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081, with Rev. Judine Duerwaechter officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service at church. Entombment will take place immediately after the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Shirley’s honor to Accentcare Hospice and Waterford Senior Living.
