Shirley Ann Peterson, age 93, was welcomed into the arms of angels on Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born in the town of DeKora, Wisconsin on May 13, 1932 to the late Durward and Louise (Schoephoester) Hall. Following her high school graduation, she met her future husband of 64 years, LaVern Peterson. They were united in marriage on November 16, 1951 in Poynette, Wisconsin. Together, they raised three sons: Neil, Dale and Jeff.
Shirley loved spending time with her large family, and was a wonderful wife to LaVern and devoted mother to her sons. Her family fondly remembers Shirley cooking special meals like her holiday Oyster Stew, and the camping trips they would all take every year all across Wisconsin. Shirley and LaVern also traveled to Hawaii and visited many other places, making memories with friends and family and enjoying each other’s company. Shirley knew her relationship with God, and was a devoted member of First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Later in life, she worked in the accounting department at Prange’s Department Store in Sheboygan. Shirley will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sheboygan Senior Community for the amazing care and comfort they provided to Shirley and her family.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Neil (Sandy) Peterson and Jeff (Tami) Peterson; her grandchildren Amanda (Antonio) Ignacio, Adam Peterson, Corey (Maria) Peterson, Dana Peterson, and Luke Fronczak; and her great-grandchildren Anna, Aaliyah, Christian, and Ulysses Ignacio, Noah and Brayden Peterson, and Christopher Fronczak. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Peterson.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband LaVern, her son Dale, and her grandson Kyle Peterson, her brothers Dick and Keith Hall, sister-in-law Eleanor Corning, and her brother-in-law Jerome Peterson.
Burial will be private.
