Steven P. Gruenke

Steven P. Gruenke, age 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 11, 1958, to the late Joseph and Alice (Christenson) Gruenke.  He graduated from South High School. Steve was employed with Kohler Company for almost 40 years. Steve enjoyed bowling and playing softball for many years. 

Steve is survived by his fiancé, Julie Bell; his son, Andy (Tammie) Gruenke; grandchildren, Hailey (Andrew Leal) Gruenke, Arik Gruenke, Serenity Ghent, J.J. Ghent and Charlie Ghent; siblings, Sue Rhode, Tim Gruenke, Don Gruenke and Bill Gruenke; a sister-in-law, Mary Gruenke; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  

 Along with his parents, Steve was preceded in death by brothers, Peter Gruenke and Dave Gruenke; sister, Ruthann (Gordon) Boeldt; sisters-in-law, Arleen Gruenke and Helen Gruenke and a brother-in-law Howie Rhode.

In his later years, Steve enjoyed playing with his dogs, Lexi and Tank. Making memories with his grandchildren, whether it be playing on the floor, going to the park, or just being a kid himself. Grilling out on the deck was also a favorite of his.

And of course, he couldn’t miss watching his beloved Green Bay Packers.

 A Celebration of Life for Steve will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8th St. in Sheboygan, with Deacon Mike Burch officiating. The family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Packer attire is welcome as we all know how much Steve loved his Packers.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Steve’s name.
