Suman Lata Pradhan

Suman Lata Pradhan, 87, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 5, 1938, in Bareilly, India.

On May 23, 1962, she was united in marriage to Dr. Braham Swarup Pradhan in Lucknow, India. Over their 60 years together, they raised two children, Nidhi Pradhan and Sanjeev Pradhan.

Suman emigrated to the U.S. in 1970 and lived in Madison, Whitewater and finally settled in Sheboygan in 1980. She obtained a Master’s degree in Special Education from UW-Whitewater and worked as a special education provider for over 25 years throughout Sheboygan. Suman possessed a drive for excellence, that mixed with her creativity and angel-like patience, made her an exemplary caregiver. Despite the challenges of raising her own developmentally disabled daughter, Suman still made time to spend with family and friends. She loved to sing, laugh and cook. Easily considered a great host with the best cooking, Suman loved making food and sharing happy times with friends and family. She had a big heart and sacrificed a lot for other people. She went out of her way to ensure the people around her were comfortable and well taken care of.

She is survived by her children Nidhi Pradhan and Sanjeev (Alexis) Pradhan; grandchildren Sameer, Mihir, Aryan, and Aarin Pradhan; nieces in India Neeru and Shushma; nephews in India Sharad, Abhai, Anupam, Dinesh and Amber; nieces in the U.S. Priti and Dolly.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 11:30 am at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St., Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow immediately after service.
