Theodore M. Holman, aged 82, of Lombard, IL, passed away on August 6, 2023.
Ted was born on August 5, 1941, to the late Bernard and Leanore Holman in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Ted served in the Army Reserves and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a BS in political science. In 1968, while working as a bartender at Butch McGuire's in Chicago, Ted met the love of his life, Barbara J. Crosby. They fell deeply in love, and two years later, they exchanged vows in Evanston, Illinois, beginning a marriage that would span 53 years. Ted then embarked on a successful lifelong career in commercial real estate and was a highly respected broker in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.
The focal point of Ted's life has always been his three children: Marc, Debbie, and Jason, to whom he devoted his entire being. In his later years, the laughter and presence of his grandchildren, Sadie, Hazel, and Isaac, became an unending source of joy, hope, and light. Ted's heart also belonged to movies, books, the melodies of Frank Sinatra, the tranquility of fishing, strolls along Florida's beaches, the Chicago Cubs, and the shared pleasure of dining at Chicago restaurants with his beloved family. He imparted to his children the values of love, patience, forgiveness, compassion and selflessness. Not a single day passed without Ted expressing his profound love for his family. On August 6, 2023, Ted found peace surrounded by those he cherished and whose lives he touched so deeply.
Ted is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara, his children: Marc, Debbie, and Jason, as well as his son-in-law, Ben, and daughter-in-law, Heather, along with their beautiful children: Isaac, Hazel, and Sadie. He is also survived by his sister, Vicki, and brother, Richard, and their children: Zachary, Josh, Rachel, Jordan, Howard, and Melissa.
Ted's life was enriched by a tapestry of diverse friendships, cherished family bonds, and a wealth of experiences.
A funeral in honor of Ted will be held on August 10th at 11:00 am at Sheboygan Hebrew Cemetery in Kohler, Wisconsin.
Those who wish to pay tribute to Theodore's memory can make memorial donations in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.
