Thomas Butzen, of Sheboygan, peacefully passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 73 years old.
Thomas was born July 1, 1943 in Sheboygan, the son of Elmer and Joyce (nee Koehn) Butzen. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1961.
Tom started Butzen Contracting 50 years ago, a successful company he was still active in. He took great pride in being a builder and encountering new, challenging projects. The legacy of his work and passion for the construction field began with his grandfather Joseph and father Elmer.

Tom is survived by his children: Robert Butzen, Elizabeth Haneman (fiancé Rick Wolf), both of Sheboygan and Marcy (James) Psichopaidas of Newtown, CT. He is further survived by 4 grandchildren: Christopher and Stephanie Haneman and Paige and Nicholas Psichopaidas, significant other Bonnie Rousse of Sheboygan, siblings: Lucy (Ross) Parisi, Mike (Gail) Butzen, Jim (Renee) Butzen, Tim (Joannie) Butzen and Peter (Rosie) Butzen, many nieces and nephews, mother of his children Lynda Sykes-Butzen, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Tommy Butzen Jr., his parents Elmer and Joyce, and his nephew David Butzen.
