He will always be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed. Until the end, Vic accepted life’s challenges with grit and determination. He was admired for his strength, pride, resiliency, and what his family lovingly referred to as his stubborn nature.
Vic was born November 22, 1939, in Marshfield to the late Phillip and Barbara (Reigel) Godard. He proudly served the US Army and was stationed in Panama. On January 24, 1974, he was united in marriage to Linda Pfister. Vic was the owner and operator of Clean Pride Cleaning for 20 years. He was especially proud that he could offer many the opportunity to provide for their families. Vic was also the owner and operator of A&V Trucking. Being an over-the-road truck driver was one of his favorite careers. He would say he loved to explore the country and always told his family about the different places he visited and people he met along the way.
Vic was a proud and avid baker specializing in desserts and was known for his upside-down cakes, sweet rolls, and cream puffs. He also enjoyed cooking and loved to make family and friends their favorite meals. Having a strong faith, Vic enjoyed reading the Bible along with many other books. Watching old westerns, wrestling, and Discovery channel were favorite pastimes of his. Vic also enjoyed being outdoors, taking rides in the country, and playing cards, especially sheepshead and rummy. Family was very important to him, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and children creating lasting memories. His grandchildren will always cherish the memories of sleepovers, desserts before dinner, eating at his favorite restaurant, road trips to the zoo, beaches, and amusement parks.
