Wesley E. Grube of Sheboygan passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. He was 90 years old.
Wesley was born February 15, 1927 in Sheboygan, the son of Ernst and Marguirite (nee Lange) Grube. He graduated from Central High School, and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy during WWII. From 1945 and 1946, he served in Illinois as well as California.
On September 12, 1959, he was united in marriage with Beverly Schwark in Sheboygan.
Wes was a florist at many local flower shops until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Covenant Church and the American Legion Post #83. He had been involved with the Boy Scouts as well as the Lone Indian Fellowship, a group founded in 1926 by Wes' father. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved going to his house camper at Cedar Lake, collecting rocks at Kohler-Andrae, fishing and boating with his family and playing cards. He spent many hours building model boats, and enjoyed the model train setup he proudly displayed in his basement.
Above all, he cherished time spent with his family whom he loved dearly; he was a great husband, father and grandfather.
Wes is survived by his wife Beverly and their children: Mark (Dawn) Grube, Sandra (Ed) Rabotski and Jodi (Kevin) McDaniel. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Sondra (Michael) Grady, Sylvia (Henrik) Lai, Brittany McDaniel, Nicole Rabotski, Jason Rabotski, Sabrina Grube, Shannon Rabotski and Mark, Seamus, Kelandra and Declan McDaniel; great-grandchildren Helena Lai, Ethan Lai and Caitlin Grady, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Donald Grube.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30PM on Monday, January 22, 2017 at Zion Evangelical Covenant Church, 1125 N. 6th St. in Sheboygan with Pastor Chris McKnight officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 11:30AM-1:30PM. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery.
