William Peterson

June 8, 1963 — April 30, 2014

William Peterson, lovingly known as Bill, died on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at the age of 50. He was the son of the late Robert Peterson and Mary Peterson. Bill was born on June 8, 1963 and enjoyed growing up with five siblings and pets in Pennsylvania, New York, and Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1989 and continued on as a lifelong learner constantly reading library books and even dabbled a bit in writing short stories and a novel. Due to his battle with schizophrenia, Bill's career was limited to working at RCS Empowers, but he felt good about holding down a job and collecting a paycheck. The last 10 years Bill really got hooked on bicycling and participated in fundraisers like the Maywood Earth Ride and the Scenic Shore 150 for Cancer. Bill enjoyed relaxing by listening to music, watching movies, drinking coffee with friends, and drawing abstract art with oil pastels. He is survived by his sisters, Amy Peterson, Meg Peterson, and Marna Perez. Marna's husband, Michael, and their children Kristian, Elyssia, and Kierra will miss him. Bill is survived also by his brothers, Mark Peterson and James Peterson. James's children, Ethan and McKenna will miss their uncle too. Bill was a kind, generous, and warm-hearted person who will be missed. Funeral arrangements are for immediate family, but a Memorial donation in Bill Peterson's honor for Paradigm Café's Re-Bike program would be greatly appreciated. Contributions go to Paradigm Café at North 8th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53081. Please feel free to donate a used bicycle(s) or make the check out to Paradigm Café and write Re-Bike Program on the memo line. Remember Bill by smiling and saying hello to people.
