Daniel Flagstad Sr. Memorial Visitation Location: Zimmer's Westview Daniel Flagstad Sr. Daniel Matthew Flagstad, Sr., 75, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Daniel was born August 6, 1937, in Green Bay to the late Melvin and Helen (Eastman) Flagstad. He graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1955. He then joined the U.S. Army serving in Germany for four years. Following his military service he worked for J.C. Penney in Cedar Rapids, IA for many years. On July 4, 2000 he married Jamie Den Boer on Cana Island, Door County, WI. He studied at NWTC, obtaining his degree in Transportation. He then worked as a sales representative in the transportation industry until founding ServiceOne Transportation Inc. in 1997. Beginning with two drivers in 1997, ServiceOne has grown to fifty five employees in Plymouth, WI. Dan cared deeply not for just his employees, but their families as well. Following in the footsteps of his father, who was the chef for the Green Bay Packers at Rockwood Lodge, Dan also was passionate about cooking. In 2005 he donated an original Don Hutson jersey to the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, that was given to him as a boy while his family lived at Rockwood Lodge. He also enjoyed traveling, tennis and hunting for morel mushrooms, and spending time at his cottage on Wolf Lake. He had a special love for his Labrador Retrievers Zena and Hutson. He is survived by his wife Jamie (Den Boer) Flagstad, his four children; Melvin Timothy (Candi) Flagstad, Robert Tyler (Lori) Flagstad, Rebecca Ruth (Jeremy) Flagstad-Becker, and Daniel Matthew (Diana) Flagstad Jr. and his three grandchildren; Kurt, Haley and Olivia. He is also survived by his sisters; Ellyn Kehoe and Sandra Flagstad. He was preceded in death by his brother Melville James (Kinsey) Flagstad, and his grandchildren Keller and Benjamin. A memorial visitation will take place Saturday, January 5, 2013, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ Howards Grove).
