Inara Rozite

June 12, 1942 — March 10, 2022

Sheboygan

Inara Anita (Bumanis) Rozite, age 79, of Sheboygan and formerly of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the Shores of Sheboygan.

Inara was born on June 12, 1942, in Riga, Latvia, to Oskars and Mirdza (Vilks) Bumanis. WWII disrupted her family’s life and they moved from one displaced person camp to the next, before finding a family who sponsored them in Iowa. After several years in Iowa, the family saved up enough money to venture out on their own to start their new life in Milwaukee. Inara was very proud of becoming a US citizen with her parents when she was 17 years old. She later graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee.

Inara was united in marriage to Janis Rozite in Milwaukee in the early 1960’s, and together they raised two children, Erik and Inga.

When her children were in school, Inara took care of her two children. After her children were out of school, Inara worked for several years at the Brady Street Pharmacy and Winkie’s in Whitefish Bay.

In her younger years, Inara sang in the Latvian choir and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a wonderful mom and would give her heart away to anyone.

Inara loved to read suspenseful novels, specifically anything by Stephen King. Her favorite musician was Neil Diamond and was always listening to him. She was a loving woman who mostly kept to herself in her later years.

Inara is survived by her children, Erik (Tony) Rozite and Inga (Josh) Escalera; granddogs; and other relatives and friends.

Inara was preceded in death by her parents, Oskars and Mirdza.

A celebration of life will be held for Inara at the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa at 11:00 AM on Saturday on March 19, 2022. A public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of Inara’s service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Inara’s memory.

Inara’s family would like to thank the staff at Shores of Sheboygan, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, her son-in-law, Josh Escalera, and the other special people in her life that helped care for her in her final days, months, and years. Inara’s family would like to give special thanks for the wonderful spiritual care and friendship from Archbishop Lauma Zusevics.
