Sharon Wimberly

April 3, 1948 — March 23, 2021

Sharon L. (Gabrielse) (Gannon) Wimberly, age 72, passed away peacefully at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on March 23, 2021.

Sharon was born on April 3, 1948 in Plymouth, WI. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1966. She married John Gannon in 1966, John’s life was taken in Vietnam in early 1967. Sharon then joined the Marine Corp in 1967 to finish John’s tour of duty. This is where she met and married Stephen E. Wimberly in 1969. Sharon and Stephen were married for 47 years.

Sharon and Stephen lived in Kentucky for some time before moving back to Sheboygan. During her working years, Sharon worked for fifteen years at K-Mart in Plymouth. She enjoyed the interaction with the people there and treasured the many friends she made along the way.

After retiring, Sharon took on a childcare job watching Ivan Adelman from a baby to age 13. Ivan held a very special place in her heart.

Sharon is survived by her three sons, Terry (Rhonda) Wimberly, Stephen C. (Keli) Wimberly, and William (Jenny) Wimberly; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many sisters and brothers, Jane Donath, Jenny (Lenny) Tillman, Patricia (Gorden) Rediske, Rose Ann (Don) Burch, Mike (Kathy) Alberts, Beth Gabrielse, Richard Gabrielse, Darlene (Ken) Miese, Karen (the late Dan) Koelpin, Robert Gabrielse, Bonnie (Ward) Kirk, Candy Gabrielse, and Loren Gabrielse; and many other relatives and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stephen; two brothers, William Gabrielse and Michael Carolan.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bettag and the staff at Sharon Richardson Hospice for their care and compassion during this hard time.
