Sunday, March 22nd Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center held an open house that was attended by over 500 visitors. John W. Ballhorn, retired 4th generation Funeral Director of the Ballhorn family was on hand during the formal rededication ceremony,along with Mayor Mike Vandersteen.

During the ceremony, a portrait of John was hung next to his forefathers on Ballhorn Chapels Legacy Wall. Mr. Ballhorn was quoted saying “I am thankful for Mark and Debbie Zimmer, who together have updated and brought Ballhorns amenities and technology to state of the art, serving the religious and secular needs of the Sheboygan area residents at time of extreme need. In addition the new crematory facility continues to provide onsite cremation services, as it has been done here since 1950, continuing Ballhorn’s pioneering efforts of alternative disposition”.

Mayor Vandersteen stated "It was good to see the operation of the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels come back under the local control of Mark and Deb Zimmer. They have remodeled the facility to make it state of the art, but still comfortable to serve the needs of Sheboygan residents."
